As reported earlier by UGASports, redshirt freshman Ben Cleveland was seen getting reps with the first team at right guard during Wednesday’s practice.

Although it remains unclear whether he will supplant Solomon Kindley Saturday against Kentucky, Bulldog left tackle Isaiah Wynn said the Toccoa native does bring something unique to the offensive line.

“It’s great. There’s definitely an intimidation factor,” Wynn said. “We play some teams and they see a guy like Ben come in, there’s an automatic intimidation, but he also can back it up. It’s great having somebody like him.”

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, Cleveland definitely casts one of the more impressive shadows on the Bulldog team.

Wynn didn’t believe it unusual that coaches would be giving players new opportunities this late in the season.

“I don’t think so. You find what works and that also creates competition,” Wynn said. “It makes guys want to do better.” Kindley has started seven of the past eight games for Georgia at right guard, but struggled against Auburn. Right guard Kendall Baker and right tackle Andrew Thomas had their moments as well.

“You can’t live in the past,” Wynn said of the offensive line’s struggles. “It happened, you’ve got to learn from it and not repeat the same thing you did before.”
