Georgia officials confirmed Thursday morning that redshirt freshman linebacker Brandon Burrows will miss the entire 2011 campaign after undergoing shoulder surgery next Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital.
The operation will be to correct what is being called "chronic shoulder instability."
According to UGA Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Ron Courson, a full return to football is anticipated following rehabilitation.
Burrows, who made two tackles, including a sack in the G-Day game last April, did not play last year while recovering from an ACL tear he suffered prior to his senior year at Walton High.
