several top 2017 prospects on campus in order to start building a relationship with those
future stars.
One of the top 2017 prospects from Georgia, Peachthree Ridge linebacker Breon Dixon, made the short trip up for the game and came away very impressed with the
atmosphere.
"I liked it a lot. It was a good experience," Dixon told UGASports. "I've been
to a couple games before at Georgia, but nothing like that. It was crazy. I had
heard people talk about the atmosphere there, but it made me like Georgia even
more."
Dixon came into the game thinking it would be a close, contested battle between
two good teams, so he was caught off-guard by how the Bulldogs won so
convincingly.
"I really liked the game," he said. "That was a big win for Georgia. It was a
good win over a good team. The outcome of the game surprised me. I think the
home field advantage meant a lot."
Georgia's defense, led by defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, gave up a touchdown
on Auburn's opening drive but didn't allow the Tigers to score again the rest of the
night.
"I like how Pruitt runs his defense," Dixon said. "They play fast and they put
athletes on the field. The defense has gotten a lot better this year."
Pruitt and inside linebacker coach Mike Ekeler have been the main coaches
involved with Dixon.
"I like those guys because they both have a lot of energy and they are both good
people overall," he said.
Head coach Mark Richt also made an impression on the Peach State prospect during
the summer.
"I talked to Coach Richt too when I went to camp up there. He talked to me about
the school, the environment, and told me how it gets during games like with
Auburn. He told me he likes to recruit good people. I really like him as a
person and as a coach and he seems trustworthy."
Dixon says he currently has no favorites..
