Wayne Arnold has cleared the last hurdle and is now fully qualified
under NCAA entrance requirements.
The 6-feet-4, 180-pounder will play guard for the Bulldogs in 2002-03 season.
Arnold averaged 24 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists as a senior. As a
junior he averaged 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. He made over
50-percent of his 162 3-point attempts as a sophomore.
"Wayne is a young man who first caught my eye as a sophomore," head coach
Jim Harrick said when Arnold signed with the Bulldogs last fall. "We were
going to watch one of his teammates, and he just kept sticking in my mind. Since
then, he's just become a better, more complete player. He's a player who does a
lot of everything. He defends, he can handle the ball, he can pass, he can run
and jump. But shooting is his real forté. He really has a bright future ahead of
him."
