Will Alabama land a quarterback in its 2021 recruiting class after signing Bryce Young in 2020, the No. 1 player at the position? Young signing with Alabama may have an impact on some, such as Drake Maye's flip to North Carolina after committing to Alabama last summer. He flipped to the Tar Heels in March.

Alabama was considered the favorite for Texas commitment Jalen Milroe prior to Maye's commitment to the Tide. Alabama wasn't taking two quarterbacks prior to their junior season especially while pursuing USC commitment, Bryce Young.

It does not mean Alabama was not going to take two quarterbacks in the 2021 class. It was simply taking one early, while trying to get one in 2020. Then decide if a second quarterback is necessary in the following year. Alabama got its top quarterback target in Young. It had one of the best committed in Maye.

Hindsight is 20/20. Some will argue the writing was on the wall regarding Maye's eventual flip to UNC. He is from North Carolina, his father played quarterback for the Tar Heels and his brother was also a star on the basketball team. Alabama didn't have a quarterback committed in 2020. It is also a powerhouse football program compared to North Carolina.
