JB's Stock Report: A Lot Of April Activity

JB's Stock Report: Since 1997, SCVarsity.com has provided South Carolina football and recruiting fans with the best recruiting information anywhere. JB's Stock Report is not a prediction of the upcoming recruiting class, but rather a list of players that are getting serious attention - some in the form of offers. As the players become hot "commodities" among the recruiting circles, they will be added to the Stock Report.

Kenneth Page, OL, Columbia, A.C. Flora High School
Early Favorites? No favorites and says he's not committing early.
The Buzz: If there is a hotter prospect in the state right now than Kenneth Page, I'd like to see them. With each week that goes by, more offers come in for the
6-4, 290lbw trenchman. Page is big, strong, athletic (he's throwing shot put for the track team right now) and is the state's No. 3 ranked player on SCVarsity.com's rankings.

Andre Ellington, RB, Berkeley, Berkeley High School
Early Favorites? The List
The Buzz: Andre Ellington is the hottest running back in the state. He's a track and field speedster with a 100 meter time in the mid 10's; once his highlight tape got out, the offers came in. He's now got them on the table from Clemson, Kentucky, Maryland, and South Carolina. He's a Top Ten on SCVarsity.com's rankings; last season, he rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 scores for the Stags.

Aramis Hillary, QB, Johnston, Strom Thurmond High School
Early Favorites? Wants to weight options, but likes South Carolina because his undle (Ira) went there.
The Buzz: If bloodline is any indication, Aramis Hillary will be successful at the next level. The nephew of former USC and NFL wide receiver Ira Hillary and the younger brother of Appalachian State QB Coco Hillary, Aramis has the size (6-2, 212) to play the position at the next level.  As a junior he passed for 1,762 yards and 11 touchdowns and ran for 752 yards and 10 more scores. He got his first DI offers this past week from Mississippi State and East Carolina, who are both recruiting him as a quarterback.

Dalton Freeman, OL, Pelion, Pelion High School
Early Favorites? Clemson was in early and was an early favorite, but recent interest from other schools has him thinking.
The Buzz: A head coach's son, Freeman has grown up on the gridiron and is beginning to see the materialization of his dream to play college football. With offers from at least ten major DI programs, the 6-6, 270lbs lineman is well on his way to becoming one of the more saught after prospects in South Carolina.
Film: Dalton Freeman - Junior Highlights
Jay Spearman, QB, Greenwood, Greenwood High School
Early Favorites? South Carolina is the team to beat with Spearman.
The Buzz: There's little doubt in anyone's mind that Jay Spearman is a heck of an athlete. As a junior quarterback, he led the Eagles to the State AAAA Football Championship by rushing and passing for more than 1000 yards.  He's got 4.5 speed in the 40, a 40 inch vertical jump, and has great conrol of his body, making him one of the top rated "athletes" in the state. He was told by South Carolina that if his 40 speed was legit, consider himself offered. We timed him at Athlete's Arena and he ran mid 4.5's twice on turf. He's legit.

Jaron Brown,  WR, Cheraw, Cheraw High School
Early Favorites? Right now, "it's between Clemson and South Carolina"
The Buzz: This kid has been on the SCVarsity.com top players list since his sophomore season and for good reason - he's a heck of an athlete on both sides of the ball. Last season, he had more than 500 yards receiving and collected 90 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. He rates well at either position (WR or DB) for the next leve. He's got offers from Clemson, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Film: Highlight tape coming soon!

Charles Whitlock,  ATH, Chester, Chester High School
Early Favorites? No favorites but plenty he likes about several schools
The Buzz: One of the state's top "athletes", Whitlock passed for 1,600 yards and rushed for more than 800 yards, while scoring 26 touchdowns. He's one of the fastest football athletes in the state with sub 4.5 speed and has 18 offers on the table already.
Film: Charles Whitlock Highlights - Chester
Everett Dawkins,  DL, Duncan, Byrnes High School
Early Favorites? No favorites
The Buzz: We first got a good look at Dawkins back last Spring when  he visited Athletes Arena to prepare for the Nike Combine with some of his teammates. I was very impressed with the athleticism that he displayed for such a big guy.  He's got great explosiveness and strength and is going to be a steal for some lucky DI school. Right now, he has two offers on the table - Maryland and Wake Forest.
Film: Everett Dawkins Highlights 1
Allen Smith,  LB, Columbia, Keenan High School
Early Favorites? No favorites
The Buzz: A true sleeper in the state, Smith collected 65 tackles this past season, including 10 sacks and 12 tackles for loss for a struggling Keenan program. He's 6-1, 225 and extremely athletic. We look for interest in him to rise as the May evaluation period comes in.
Dion Foster,  DL, Richburg, Lewisville High School
Early Favorites? No favorites
The Buzz: Another true sleeper in the state, Foster is a 6-4, 230lbs stalwart on the defensive side of the ball for the Lions. He was so impressive on his film and on the eyeball test that Auburn offered him recently on an unofficial visit. Look for activity with his stock to increase during May. S
