Texas LB hoping to set up FSU visit

video Michael Morgan scouting video

Dallas Skyline linebacker Michael Morgan has Florida State in his top five, but he hasn't been able to get up with the Seminole coaches lately. The four-star athlete wants to set up an official visit to FSU, but his inability to make a connetion with the coaching staff has slowed things down.

"I haven't heard from them (FSU) in awhile," said Morgan. "I'm waiting for them to call to set up a visit. I think I've only talked to them one time."

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound multi-position star says the 'Noles along with USC, Oklahoma, Michigan and Texas A&M round out his top five. Of those schools, only one has an official visit set and that's USC for the weekend of October 27th.

"I want to visit FSU," said Morgan. "It's one of the schools I want to see to see how the program is."

The Rivals100 member wants it to be known that he is a big fan of Florida State and hopes to take a look at what the Seminoles have to offer.

"I watched the Miami and Boston College game," said Morgan. "They have a fast defense and rush to the ball. It's the type of player I am."

The No. 6 rated player in Texas has led his Skyline team to a 3-2 record so far. He is also is coming off a junior season that saw him record 91 tackles and 18 sacks, which was good enough to draw the attention of some of the biggest schools in the country. Morgan also runs the 40-yard dash is 4.5 seconds and has a 2.9 GPA.

Right now it looks like Texas A&M and USC may be recruiting the hardest, but that doesn't mean the four-star athlete will necessarily end up in in Texas or California. If the 'Noles can hook-up with Morgan via telephone and set up a visit, you have to think Rivals.com's Recruiter of the Year Kevin Steele will have a say in where the talented prospect ends up.
