Five tabbed All-SEC

Keep in touch with UGASports.com

The Associated Press All-SEC team was announced Monday and five Bulldogs found their names on the list.

That included three members of the first team - senior tight end Arthur Lynch, sophomore placekicker Marshall Morgan and junior linebacker Ramik Wilson, who led the SEC with 128 tackles.

Senior quarterback Aaron Murray and sophomore tailback Todd Gurley were second team selections.

Lynch has been a key component of the SEC's No. 2-ranked passing offense this season. The Dartmouth, Mass., native caught 24 passes for 390 yards and tied for the team lead with five touchdown catches.

Despite missing the first two games due to a suspension, Morgan leads all sec kickers in field goals made (18-for-20) and points per game (10.0). The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., native connected on a 56-yard field goal against Tennessee, which is the longest kick made in the league this season. He is the SEC's only kicker to be named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award.

Of Wilson's 128 tackles, 72 were of the solo variety, also tops in the SEC. Wilson led Georgia in tackles for nine of their games, including a season-high 18 against Auburn. His 11 tackles for loss is tied for eighth in the SEC.

Murray threw for 3,075 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushed for seven more scores this season and became the first quarterback in SEC history to throw for 3,000-plus yards in four consecutive seasons before tearing his ACL against Kentucky.

But before that happened, the Tampa native set four SEC career records in his final season as a Bulldog, including touchdown passes, total offense, passing yards and completions. He is also the SEC's leading player in TD responsibility (137), and his 13,166 passing yards are No. 2 nationally among active FBS quarterbacks.

Gurley missed three games due to a high-ankle sprain, but with 903 yards, still has a chance to reach the 1,000-mark for the second-straight year against Nebraska in the Gator Bowl. Gurley rushed for 100 or more yards four times, including the regular season finale when he rushed for 122 yards and scored four touchdowns in the win over Georgia Tech.
