Monday Morning Quarterback

Bookmark and Share

As our second part to our look back over 15 years of this day in UGASports.com history, today we look at what was going on on July 15th.

First 15

7/15/98 - Quarterback update - One cleared, one out for a few weeks, five on hand for fall camp.

7/15/99 - Arnaud sees focus as key to success - Robert Arnaud came to the University of Georgia in 1995 to play running back for the Bulldogs. Since that time he has played a variety of positions, had his highs and lows, and now heads into fall practice more determined than ever to make his mark on Georgia football.

7/15/00 - Q&A with Will Witherspoon - Witherspoon and fellow junior starter Boss Bailey each saw a lot of playing time as a true freshman, and then became starters as sophomores. While Bailey continued that progression with an outstanding second season, Witherspoon suffered an ankle injury that cause him not only to miss three games, but his starting position as well.

7/15/01 - Richt gives Hogan a scholarship - Hogan is a native of the Classic City and is a 1997 graduate of Clarke Central in Athens. Hogan started every game in 2000.

7/15/02 - Q&A with Albert Hollis - Sophomore running back Albert Hollis has got to be one of the most patient and dedicated players in college football.

7/15/03 - Dooley/Adams sorting through the BS - On Tuesday, a number of Georgia alumni and fans will rally at a Board of Regents meeting that won't take place. That's how bizarre and muddled the controversy involving UGA President Michael Adams and Athletic Director Vince Dooley has become.

7/15/04 - Summer Workout Notebook - In the sweltering heat the Georgia Bulldogs continued their summer practice session with an hour long mat drill session at the Woodruff practice fields today.

7/15/05 - Five Star LB moves to safety - Most 'recruitniks' across the country know the name Marcus Ball. Rivals.com has Ball rated as the number two outside linebacker in the country and the number eleven player overall

7/15/06 - Class of 2002 vs. 2006 - As if it is not hard enough to project how well a high school football player will perform at the next level by way of rankings, try comparing one class to another.

7/15/07 - Miller becomes a leader - Last January, senior linebacker Brandon Miller watched one of Georgia's biggest rivals win the National Championship over Ohio State. Watching that game lit such a fire inside Miller and his teammates that he thinks it will motivate them in 2007 for a big season.

7/15/08 - Wilson on the mend - Wide receiver Tony Wilson did a little role playing as he watched the Olympic Trials on TV two weeks ago. (LIVE)

7/15/09 - Former Bulldog finds another home - Former Georgia safety John Knox has enrolled in summer school at the University of Memphis, Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations Jennifer Rodriguez confirmed to UGASports Wednesday.

7/15/10 - Grantham previews fall camp - An interview with Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is like sitting in on an upper level course in physics or algebra.

7/15/11 - Grantam holds court - Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham sat down with beat writers for almost 30 minutes Friday, discussing a wide range of topics prior to the Bulldogs opening up preseason drills in two weeks
