Bennett out for the year
Up until now, Georgia had been fortunate to avoid any major injuries on the football field.
That changed Tuesday when leading receiver Michael Bennett went down with a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the year, Georgia officials confirmed in a release.
Bennett suffered the injury toward the end of Tuesday's practice. He will undergo reconstructive surgery on a yet to be determined date and will miss the remainder of the season according to Director of Sports Medicine Ron Courson.
He'll definitely be missed.
Bennett is currently the team¹s leading receiver with 24 catches for 345 yards and four touchdowns.
With Bennett out, look for Malcolm Mitchell to serve a more permanent role on offense, with sophomore Chris Conley to receive more looks.
