Quarterback hopes to visit

Tyler Cogswell is disappointed that his junior season ended last weekend with a loss to Miami Jackson but the Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage quarterback is already looking to the future and a possible stop at Boston College.

Cogswell, a 6-foot-4, 212-pound pro-style quarterback who threw for 1,833 yards and 23 touchdowns this past season, said there is a good possibility he will stop at Boston College for a one-day camp this summer.

He was supposed to visit a few weeks back for a game but Cogswell said he was focused on American Heritage's playoff run so he decided against it.

There is still a lot of interest in Boston College and Cogswell said he's strongly considering a trip to Chestnut Hill this summer to show off his skills to the coaching staff.

"I've called them a few times and I was supposed to go visit a couple weeks ago," Cogswell said. "I ended up not going because I was getting ready for the playoffs.

"I might go to one of their one-day camps."

It's going to be a busy summer for Cogswell, who said he's planning to also attend camps at Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Texas Tech and SMU.

The exposure will be nice for Cogswell since the junior still doesn't have any offers but he's more focused on winning that elusive state championship next season.

He will also attend the U.S. Army National Combine, a Football University Camp and the Under Armour Combine.

"I'm going to take like a week off and then I'm going to start working out because I want to put 10 or 15 more pounds of muscle on," Cogswell said.

"More than exposure, it's more about getting ready for next season. I think the exposure will come if I play well. It makes me work harder to reach my goal of winning a state championship because then I'd feel like I proved myself."
