Big Ten: Buckeyes, Huskers lead

LEAGUE RANKINGS: SEC | Big 12 | Big East | Pac-12 | ACC

Rivals.com analysts rank the 2011 Big Ten recruiting classes after National Signing Day. Check back Thursday for an in-depth, team-by-team breakdown of the league.

1. Ohio State: Great in-state class capped by commitment of linebacker Curtis Grant, the nation's No. 2 prospect.

2. Nebraska: Huskers are joining the Big Ten with a top 25 class, led by running back Aaron Green.

3. Michigan: Great recovery from coaching change and indecision, credit Brady Hoke.

4. Iowa: Strong class led by a major move into the state of Maryland.

5. Michigan State: Strong in-state haul led by best player in Michigan, linebacker Lawrence Thomas.

6. Penn State: Small class got off to slow start but finished strong on offensive and defensive line.

7. Wisconsin: Two in-state studs lead small but powerful class for the Badgers.

8. Illinois: Strong in-state haul helps keep Illinois above the cellar-dwellers.

9. Minnesota: Interesting first effort for new head coach Jerry Kill with kids from all over the map.

10. Indiana: Strong start derailed by a few late de-commitments, but some success in Ohio helps.

11. Northwestern: Balanced class has no stars but few duds as well.

12. Purdue: Very small class hurt by loss of quarterback Russell Bellomy to Michigan late.
