Rivals.com expert predictions: Mountain West

MORE: Mountain West Preview

We asked our five football writers to answer a few questions about the Mountain West, some serious and some light-hearted. Here are their responses:

WHO WINS THE LEAGUE?
Olin Buchanan: TCU
Tom Dienhart: TCU
David Fox: Utah
Mike Huguenin: TCU
Steve Megargee: TCU
WHICH TEAM WILL BE THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?
Olin Buchanan: BYU
Tom Dienhart: BYU
David Fox: Air Force
Mike Huguenin: BYU
Steve Megargee: BYU
IF I WERE {BLANK}, I'D REALLY BE WORRIED.
Olin Buchanan: A New Mexico assistant. Coach Mike Locksley, who has been accused of punching a former assistant, has been known to fly off the handle. The Lobos' first three games are against Oregon, Texas Tech and Utah, so there could be a lot of tension early in Albuquerque.
Tom Dienhart: BYU coaches. The offense may struggle early as it breaks in a new quarterback and looks to replace RB Harvey Unga, who is off to the NFL in the supplemental draft after he was dismissed from school.
David Fox: BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall. I'm sure he's happy with the Mountain West and all, but Utah coach Kyle Whittingham is able to tell recruits all about the Pac-10. Meanwhile, Mendenhall might have a tough year with either a Utah State transfer or a true freshman at quarterback.
Mike Huguenin: TCU coach Gary Patterson. Expectations are so high for the Horned Frogs that if they don't win the league and don't get to the BCS, the season will be looked at as a failure.
Steve Megargee: New Mexico coach Mike Locksley. Locksley had about as disastrous a debut season as any coach can have, and it doesn't seem as though the Lobos will be much better this season.
