Three-star OG adds a school to the mix

Little has been heard from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha offensive guard Shane Johnson. The 6-foot-5, 301-pounder announced a top five back in June. Where is he at now with his recruitment?

"I've got the same top five," he said. "That includes Boston College, California, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Wake Forest. I like those schools because I can see myself at any of them."

One new school has jumped into the mix.

"Rutgers is in there now too," he said. "I really like their head coach and the line coach. Their facilities are great too."

With a handful of favorites, does the three-star prospect plan to take visits soon?

"I don't know about visits. I might want until after the season to take trips."

Johnson is rated the No. 26 offensive guard in the country and No. 12 prospect in Maryland in the 2010 recruiting class.
