CK: No place for that in this game

The Oregon Ducks lost ugly on the field against Boise State on Thursday night. A national television audience bore witness to a punch-less offense during the game and an ugly incident afterward. Oregon coach Chip Kelly talked about it after the game.

One of the worst parts of being a football coach is dealing with the media after a loss. That is nothing compared to answering questions about a post-game brawl. Chip Kelly got to do both after the Boise State loss. Here are his post-game comments.

"We're not going to win a lot of games when we have the production we had in the first half."

"You have to be able to run the football to win and we couldn't do that today. The passing game opened some things up in the second half, but we're not a team that is going to rely on throwing the ball around the joint. We need to continue to figure out where our running game is right now and continue to work on that."

"We need to clean up our offense first and foremost but all areas have to improve. It's not one group it's the entire offense."

"I thought our defense battled. The offense left them on the field way too long. They competed and obviously they got worn down a little by the number of snaps they had to play."

Jackson Rice

"Rice did a great job for us. He had one bad punt and after that he was tremendous. He is a bright spot for us right now."

"We had so many three and outs in the first half we didn't have many opportunities. I don't know what our play total was but it wasn't very high in the first half. We did try to go to Dickson, it just wasn't there."

"We need to stick together. One game does not define us as a group. We're going to practice tomorrow which was already planned, then we'll take Saturday and Sunday off."

"I was very frustrated after the UCLA game a couple years ago. This ranks right up there."
