Gettis making his move

If there was one offensive lineman that really emerged during spring ball it was Adam Gettis, according to the coaches. The Illinois native started making his move up the depth chart and even worked with the first team at times playing guard. Gettis talks about his progress, working with Coach Doyle to grow into his role, plus a whole lot more.

Q: You are a player the coaches have mentioned quite a bit as someone that stood out this spring. What's that like when you hear them say that you impressed them?

GETTIS: The coaches have been doing a great job. They just keep you on your toes at all time. As the tempo gets higher, you learn a little bit more and you grasp onto things and you just start to fit in with the other guys.

Q: What do you think that you did that stood out to them specifically?

GETTIS: Coach Morgan just helped me out a lot. I'd come after practice and we'd work on passing drills, coming off the ball, first step in the run game, and keeping my hands where they need to be. He's really helped me out with that, so I've done a lot of improving.

Q: You have obviously spent a lot of time with Coach Doyle. How much bigger have you gotten since you got here?

GETTIS: I'm actually up 60 pounds right now. I'm at 282.
