Gagliano knows just one speed

As Coach Ellerson continues to put his stamp on the Black Knights' recruiting efforts, there is one consistent theme that exist for many of the skilled position prospects that Army has targeted; and that is speed and versatility.

Adding players like incoming freshman Brian Austin, as well as the staff's ability to encourage Army's junior track star Alfred McDaniel to dust off his shoulder pads and put away his track spikes for a season, reflects Ellerson's commitment to add speed to the program.

As such, prospect Sam Gagliano, who prides himself on his speed
and versatility, has netted himself an offer from Army.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder has spent time playing at slot receiver, cornerback, and receiver for Waxahachie (Tx.) Waxahachie High School.

No where was his speed more evident then during the Texas 4A State Championship where he spearheaded Waxahachie's 4X100 with a sizzling 10.0 split that enabled Gagliano and this teammates to win the gold in that event with a time of 41.13.

Gagliano was also part of the 2nd place finish in the State Championship, where he participated in the 4X200. During the course of the track season, he also ran the 110M (13.87) & 300M hurdles. He reports a hand timed forty of 4.35 and it transferred to his speed on the football field.

The speedy prospect has offers from Army, Air Force, Colorado, North Texas and Tulsa.

Gagliano stated that he did not camp this summer and just wanted to focus on working out for the upcoming season, which starts August 28th.
