Three-star receiver looking for more

PAISLEY, Fla. - The setting at the Top Gun camp in Paisley, Fla. was teaming with prospects with extensive offer lists from schools from around the country. There were also quality prospects in attendance with limited offer lists looking to prove that they were among the elite.

Tehvyn Brantley came to the camp with offers from North Carolina, Central Michigan and Buffalo but has performed at camps this summer like a player with much more suitors. The undersized receiver approached the opportunity in Florida with some specific goals.

"I'm basically just trying to compete with the best and trying to get myself ranked a little bit higher," Brantley said. "I'm trying to show my talents against other better guys and get some more offers."

Brantley's speed and intensity as a vertical threat in the passing game allows him the ability to be factor in a number of roles on the next level.

"Basically a lot of people are telling me that I can come in right now and start in the slot and return kicks and punts," he said.

Recently, Brantley was told that a Wyoming offer is on the way. Along with that offer and the three he already has, some major programs are keeping close tabs on his development.

"I'm hearing from Cal, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, Wake Forest and South Carolina," he said. "I went to the South Carolina camp last weekend and I gave the coach my number so he'll be giving me a call in September when they can start calling."

The summer has been busy for Brantley as he has attended numerous events, scrapping for respect. As the summer winds down and the fall approaches, the speedy prospect is happy with what he has been able to accomplish over the past few months.

"I feel like I got my respect from a lot of different players and it was just good hard work so I think I got what I needed out of [the summer]," he said.

As for his Top Gun performance?

"I think I did pretty good," he said. "These guys are supposed to be the best so me going against them, it compares my game a lot. I think I did pretty well against all of them."
