Rivals MVP on the verge of commitment

Two-time Rivals Ultimate100 wide receiver Malcolm Johnson is on the verge of a decision.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Tuscaloosa, Ala., native is currently at Florida State but told BulldogBlitz Tuesday night that if he does not get an offer from the Seminoles that he would make his commitment to Mississippi State.

"Honestly, after I leave this camp if I don't receive an offer from Florida State I am going to go ahead and make my decision and commit to Mississippi State," Johnson said. "It will be no later than the end of the month most likely. I wanted to wait until I went to the Florida State camp before I committed and see how it goes. After this most likely I am going to go ahead and commit. You are the only person that knows that."

Johnson wants to make his decision before his senior season but wanted to take his second trip to Tallahassee before making a commitment. He previously went to FSU's spring game but is not sure if the Seminoles are planning on an offer before he leaves on Wednesday.

"Honestly I don't know if I will get an offer," Johnson said. "It's no telling because I did start off slow. I was surprised because I don't know what was going on with me. It was the simple stuff that I already know how to do, it just seemed like it wasn't clicking. But everything happens for a reason and Florida State might not be the place for me."

Johnson arrived at Florida State Sunday night and stated that things have gotten better after his sluggish start.
