Rea on the verge of commitment?
If things go according to plan, Wes Rea could make his commitment before the end of the day but not necessarily in the sport many people think.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound four-star offensive lineman could turn down 14 football scholarship offers for the opportunity to play baseball at Mississippi State.
Rea will make his first ever visit to the Starkville campus today to visit with MSU head coach John Cohen to talk scholarship money and take a tour of the baseball facilities.
"I'm really looking at Mississippi State in baseball," Rea said. "I'm going up there (today) to talk to them about money and depending on how that goes with the whole money deal and how much they can give me is going to be a big determining factor.
"I'm not going to say there is no chance of me committing (today). There definitely is especially if they put an offer up that is irresistible that I just couldn't turn down. It's definitely not out of the question. I guess it will just depend on how much money they put out there and how it goes."
The Bulldogs were the first of three schools to offer Rea in baseball with Tulane and Auburn also tendering scholarship offers.
