Stephenson back from track, hitting recruiting trail

Lancaster cornerback Tyler Stephenson is best known for his football acumen as evidenced by the fact that he has offers from schools across the country. However, the Rivals.com four-star prospect is also an accomplished track athlete and qualified for the state track meet with times of 13.8 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 37.8 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles.

In fact, while many of the state's top seniors have been getting ready for football offseason workouts and 7-on-7 tournaments, Stephenson has been running track at meets both in and out of the country. At a junior meet in Puerto Rico, Stephenson finished first in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles and was on relay teams that finished second at the event. In the Nike Outdoor meet in North Carolina, Stephenson was third in the 110-meter hurdles.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Rivals.com four-star prospect has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, LSU, Oregon, Tennessee, Baylor, Texas Tech and Arizona.
