Honeycutt embracing leadership role

Dickinson quarterback Clay Honeycutt, despite two years of varsity football under his belt already, had a bit of a different feeling going through practice this spring. The past two seasons, he has started out as the back-up to Baylor signee Brody Trahan, the son of his head coach. However, both years, injuries ended Trahan's season early on and Honeycutt was given the reins to the team.

This spring, though, it is clear that the Texas A&M commit is the man at the quarterback position. After working out at tight end and receiver the past two springs, Honeycutt spent all of his time under center this year. He says it was a good experience for him as well as the rest of the team.
