Malena's improvements may mean ratings bump

Cedar Hill running back Ben Malena should have gotten everyone's attention last fall when he rushed for 2,202 yards and 35 touchdowns in leading Cedar Hill in a playoff run that culminated in a loss to eventual state finalist Wylie. In fact, Malena did succeed in catching the attention of college recruiters across the country by obtaining offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Baylor, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State and Minnesota before committing to the Aggies in late March on an unofficial visit to College Station.

However, Malena is really making strides in the offseason toward giving A&M's 2010 class its second four-star prospect. He's been working with a personal trainer seeking to increase his speed and explosiveness one hour a day on Sundays and Wednesdays.

The work paid off at a recent Nike camp in Fort Worth. Malena was named as one of the Hot 11 at the camp in article by Barry Every with Rivals.com.
