MORGANTOWN--West Virginia's 2009 recruiting haul included three of Rivals' Top 50 wide receiver prospects. Deon Long and Stedman Bailey plan to join the team this summer, but early enrollee Logan Heastie adds depth to a position which has three veterans on the outside, but no one with playing time inside. This is the spring status anyway.

Heastie entered Tuesday's spring opener as the fourth man on the Z-receiver (the possession guy) and X-position (usually reserved for the fleetest athlete) depth chart but is currently being held from practice due to NCAA eligibility concerns. The 6-foot-2, 192-pounder could have the opportunity for upward mobility with a solid month of practice. Bradley Starks appears headed for spring reps and even some late contact work after recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. Walk-on junior Gino Crump and redshirt freshman J.D. Woods will also get plenty of looks at Z and in the slot.
