Dawgs hit the road

Most recently, the Bulldogs in their sixth game under interim head coach Pete HerČrmann lost at home to Auburn by a 71-59 count. It represented an about-face from their previous effort four days earlier, when they got their first win of 2009 by defeating Florida 88-86 at home. After scoring a season-high 54 points in the first half against Florida and leading the GaČtors by seven Georgia mustered just 19 first-half points against Auburn and consequently trailed by an insurmountable 45-19 margin.

The series

Saturday's game is the 103rd all-time meeting between Georgia and Ole Miss. GeorČgia leads the series by a 65-37 count. The two teams met twice in a 5-day span last season: March 8 in Athens (76-62 Ole Miss) and March 13 in the SEC Tournament in Atlanta (97-95 Georgia in OT). The latter contest began Georgia's improbable march to the SEC tourney title, just its second in the program's history.

Success against the Rebels

Ole Miss is one of just three SEC opponents against which Georgia has a winning record in its all-time series. South Carolina (46-45) and Auburn (87-86) are the others. The Bulldogs are close to the .500 mark against several others: Florida (96-103) and Miss. State (49-50). Georgia has won more games in Oxford (23) than at any other SEC road venue. The Bulldogs are 23-24 all-time there, including two wins in this decade (2001, 2003). Ole Miss won the last meeting in Oxford by a 67-49 margin in the 2007 season.

Milestone for Woodbury

Senior Terrance Woodbury needs 14 points to reach 1,000 for his career. He would become the 39th player in UGA history to reach that milestone.
