2010 RB gets TCU offer
Just as the Frogs did in the 2009 class, TCU is off and running for 2010 in search of another big start to the new recruiting season. PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Longview, TX standout, Tyler McCray to get his thoughts on recruiting and to find out how he feels about TCU.
"Everything is going good right now" said McCray. "I'm getting a lot of letters from different schools."
With interest in the 5'11" 190 pound runner picking up, PurpleMenace.Com wanted to know if the young man had heard from TCU yet.
"Yes sir, they've been talking to me and my quarterback(Aaron Johnson) quite a bit" said McCray. "I'm real interested in going there because they are real close and if anything happened with my family, I know I would be right there for them."
So is TCU his favorite school or does he just have an interest in them?
"I guess you could say they are my favorite right now" he said. "I know if I went there that my family would be able to come to the games because it's so close. Aaron Johnson and I talk all the time about playing together and I would like it if we played for TCU."
Now before all you Frog fans go getting all excited. Hear the young man out. He likes TCU the most right now but he's in no hurry to make a decision. So what other schools would the gamebreaking runner like to hear from?
"I'm not going to commit early" said McCray. "I want to see who all offers and there are a few schools that I would like to hear from. I'm interested in Florida, Texas Tech, LSU and Arkansas too."
With the TCU offer in hand, McCray can rest assured that he will play D1 football. The question is, how many other offers will he receive?
"We'll see how it goes. TCU is my favorite right now" he said. "Me and my quarterback will talk it over but I'm going to focus on my senior year first. I want to get back to where we got this year but I want to be a better leader during my senior year."
With Longview returning so many stars for the 2009 season, look for the Lobos to make another deep run in the Texas state playoffs. With McCray and Aaron Johnson running the show, the sky's the limit for this team. Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com for all of your TCU recruiting information.
