Beaton ready for Corvallis
Offensive linemen are an important cog in any successful football team, and finding and identifying high school lineman that can be successful at the next level is of upmost importance for college coaches.
Michael Beaton (6' 3", 285) of Dallas (Ore.) Dallas was one of those players that stood out at Oregon State's summer camp and was offered on the spot. He's been a long time Beaver commit and finally got the chance to take his official visit 30 miles down the road to the school he'll be spending the next 4-5 years at.
"It was a lot of fun, said Beaton of his jaunt down to Corvallis. "It was a really great visit and they kept us very busy. The first night they took us to the bowling alley. Then they took us to the Big River Restaurant. The food was excellent all around."
For Beaton, the visit solidified his commitment and choice of schools.
"The trip just confirmed [for me] why Oregon State is such a great place," said Beaton.
Beaton was hosted on the trip by redshirt freshman lineman Grant Johnson.
"Grant Johnson was my player host," said Beaton. "He was very nice and very polite. He was always very considerate, and always asking what I wanted to do. I had a few questions about the daily routine that he was able to answer."
