Matthews adds more offers
Missouri City (Texas) Elkins offensive tackle Jake Matthews has kept a level head when it comes to the early recruiting process. With his father Bruce and uncle Clay having played in the NFL for a combined 37 years, he has grown up around the game of football and is not awed by the process. However, schools are still trying to make their best impressions on him.
Arguably the state of Texas' top offensive lineman in the class of 2010, the 6-foot-5, 275-pound junior is up to eight early scholarship offers with many more likely on the way.
"I've gotten offers from Stanford, (Texas) A&M, (Texas) Tech, Arkansas, Houston, Duke, Oregon and then the latest one I've gotten so far is from Oklahoma State," said Matthews.
With every school across the country scheduling junior days over the next few months, Matthews plans to attend a few. He doesn't have anything set in stone at this point, though.
