Ducks to host four-star JUCO DE
The Oregon Ducks are putting together one of the top junior college classes of 2009 and after the recent success of players like Jeremiah Masoli, Terence Scott and LeGarrette Blount, who could blame them. One of the top JUCO defensive ends in the nation says he will be in Eugene this coming weekend and looks forward to checking out the Ducks.
Los Angeles (Calif.) Harbor College defensive end DeQuin Evans is one of the more sought-after players in the country this season and with more offers than the Rivals database can hold, teams from the Pac 10 SEC, Big 12 and Big East are lining up to get him out for a visit. After visits to Kentucky and Kansas last month, Oregon is his next stop on the recruiting trail.
"I am going to Oregon this Friday," Evans said. "I have got Louisville the week after that."
Evans is 6-foot-3, 260 pounds and brutal off the edge with a reported 40-yard dash time somewhere around 4.6 seconds. Combine that with his 38-inch vertical jump and 19 repetitions of 225 pounds, and his measurables are off the charts.
Evans says the opportunity to play in the Pac 10 has always been a dream.
"I am as excited as heck," Evans said of his upcoming Eugene visit. "I grew up a Pac 10 fan with my cousin playing in the Pac 10. I also like the SEC."
