Harrison is coming to Fort Collins

For Hillcrest High School (Tex.) wide receiver Michael Harrison, two words sum up his recruiting at this time of the year.

"Same old, same old," Harrison said Thursday night. "I think I am visiting (CSU) in January."

Harrison holds a scholarship offer from Colorado State and is hearing from Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe and Wyoming. His trip to Colorado State in January is the only visit he has scheduled presently.

"I would like to see a good environment, a good coaches and if it is a good place to be," Harrison said when asked about what he hopes to see on his visit. "If I am going to spend the next four or five years somewhere I should like it, right?"

Harrison accounted for nearly 1,500 all-purpose yards this season, including his kick return yardage. Hillcrest ended its season in the second round of the playoffs. The 6-2, 196-pound played quarterback and receiver last season, managing 1,100 all-purpose yards. This season he was primarily a wideout and said his ability to get off the ball greatly improved.

Colorado State assistant coach Tim Duffie is Harrison's primary recruiting coach and has done well enough to put the Rams at or near the top of his list.

"They (CSU) are up there at the top," Harrison said. "It is still early, so I really don't know yet."
