2010 QB still high on Clemson
While the ouster of Tommy Bowden at Clemson negatively affected many prospects, Class of 2010 quarterback Dylan Thompson didn't rush to judgment. He waited for the Tigers to name a successor and he is pleased with Clemson's choice.
Thompson, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound pro-style quarterback from Boiling Springs, S.C., has several friends at Clemson and has been around the football program for quite some time.
He attended Clemson's annual rivalry game with South Carolina over the weekend and the trip went well.
"It was a great experience. I realized how great Clemson's fans are and that they know a lot about the program, even the faces of recruits. It was an awesome day.
"I am really glad Coach Swinney is the head coach. I like him as a coach and a Christian. The last time I talked to him was Saturday. However, Coach Napier said he would be by my school soon to talk with me. My friends Chad Diehl and Willy Korn said they are really excited that he is coach and he is well-respected."
While Thompson is very high on the Tigers he is going to take an honest look at the other schools he has heard from thus far.
"I like Clemson a lot but to be honest I don't have a favorite. I like Clemson, NC State, Duke, Alabama, South Carolina, Virginia and Vanderbilt, but new schools could come in and that could change. I just don't have a tops list, to be honest."
Thompson said he does not have any plans to visit any schools in the near future, though he said he would likely go back to Clemson and attend a couple of basketball games at NC State at some point.
