Decision could come Monday for O'Neill

With a packed house full of fans and recruits at Camp Randall Stadium Saturday night, Wisconsin was able to showcase everything it had to offer both on the field and in the classroom. One high-priority prospect that made the trip from Florida to Madison was Conor O'Neill, a three-star prospect who could make his college choice as early as Monday.

The following is a question and answer with O'Neill, who just returned from his official visit to Wisconsin Sunday night:

How did everything go this weekend on your official visit?

O'Neill: Everything just went really well. I had a great weekend; I could only ask for a win to top everything off, but they made it a ball game and it was a great game.

What did you think about the atmosphere, a night game at Camp Randall?

Camp Randall was just awesome. Jump Around and the whole student section, even without having the band there it was different, but it was still a great time and I really enjoyed it.

There were a lot of kids in the house, a lot of recruits, did you get a chance to talk with anyone?

Yeah, I talked with another kid from Florida, a wide receiver, Stedman Bailey. I also spoke with Davon Custis and that wide receiver from East St. Louis, Kraig Appleton. They were all good guys.

This was a huge weekend for Wisconsin's recruiting, was it exciting being up here with so many kids visiting?

We all had a great time. They kept feeding us the whole time and we were never hungry (laughing). The treatment that we got was great. We got to roll around in vans and basically see every inch of the campus. It was wonderful.

You've now taken all three of your official visits that you were planning, are you any closer to your decision?

Well, I'm hoping to decide in the next two weeks. My parents and I are going to sit down tomorrow night and just talk everything out. This decision is going to be a family decision because I'm going to be spending the next four or five years of my life at Camp Randall and Madison, or if it's at Auburn or Clemson. Hopefully we're able to make it in the next two weeks, whether it be tomorrow (Monday) that we decide to make it public or in two weeks.

Where does Wisconsin fit in that list now, I know that they are still fresh in your head?

The visit was great and I had a wonderful time, but right now I just want to relax and let the real emotions set in. I'm still on such a high from the trip. Right now all three schools are neck-and-neck and that's why me and my parents and coach are going to sit down and talk about everything tomorrow. Talk about academics, talk about the coaching staff, and every aspect about the reasons why I would go to a school.

Coach Charlie Partridge and coach Dave Doeren are your primary recruiters, how is your relationship with them?
I have a great relationship with both of them. Coach Doeren is the defensive coordinator and the one I'd be playing for and Coach Partridge is the one that's been down here most recently. He grew up in South Florida so he's real easy to talk with and he's real personable. All the coaches I think I have a good relationship with.

It doesn't look like distance is going to play a role in your decision. Will playing in the cold at UW-should you pick them-be a problem?

I don't think so. I was talking to Aaron Henry on Friday night because he was my host. He said it takes some time to get used to, but it's not something that your body can't adapt to. All the Florida players that I talked to this weekend said that's not a problem.
