2010 Oklahoma ATH Ready for More Mail
Few players in the state of Oklahoma are off to a hotter start this season than Tulsa Central athlete Demarco Cobbs who has starred through four games at quarterback, receiver, and on defense he is now featuring prominently at free safety. The 6-foot-2, 189-pound prospect from the former Tulsa area doormat has helped lead the squad to a top 10 state ranking in class 5A.
Recently Central faced their first big test of the season against rival East Central, and Cobbs didn't disappoint collecting three receptions for 118 yards.
Though the Braves fell short the school is excited about his team's chance to make the playoffs for the first time in a while. It was a pre-season match-up with East Central that gave the Braves belief they were ready to compete with some of Tulsa's 5A big boys.
"It's one of the better starts we've had in a while, this is my first year playing for Central. I played the last two games last year, I had transferred from Memorial and I was in a hardship so I wasn't able to play much last season," Cobbs said. "The atmosphere is crazy, the school is really into it this year. When we played East Central and they only beat us to 7-0."
