Weatherford has come to terms with situation
To understand the competitive spirit that burns inside Drew Weatherford, you have to look back five years to his decision to sign with Florida State.
Though Weatherford was touted as one of the nation's elite quarterback prospects, his recruitment was nothing like that of fellow classmate Xavier Lee.
Lee was Florida's Mr. Football. He had shattered school and state passing records. He was the player that FSU's coaches used to recruit other top prospects: "Don't you want to come catch passes from Xavier Lee?"
The hype surrounding Lee's recruitment was seemingly never ending.
Meanwhile, Weatherford was undeterred. He stuck to his verbal commitment. He signed with the Seminoles. And he vowed that Lee would not win the starting job easily.
