Prioleau's senior season off to a strong start

Fort Worth All Saints tight end Hutson Prioleau and his teammates are off to a good start for the 2008 season after a 38-9 victory over Fort Worth Christian last Friday night. Not only are the Saints undefeated, but Prioleau's role has expanded significantly from last season. He already has 11 catches in the first three games of the season (he had just 12 total a year ago) for 175 yards and three touchdowns. In fact, he might have even bigger numbers except for a couple of items.

Teammate Shaun Younger has proven to be a big-time threat himself with 379 yards receiving and Prioleau got taken out of the game last Friday at the end of the first quarter after All Saints had built up a 28-3 lead. Nevertheless, the Texas A&M commit is making the most of his opportunities as he did on a 49-yard reception for his third touchdown of the season last week.

"It was a 10-yard out," the 6-foot-5, 255-pounder said of his route on the play. "We were trips left and I was the middle receiver. I broke a few tackles. That was the only time I was thrown to all night. I was looking the box score and, with the receivers, no one had more than one catch."

Last season, Prioleau was utilized as a slot receiver in All Saints' spread offense but this year he has been getting more work as a true in-line tight end, the place he is projected to play at the next level.
