Raymond Carter day draws near

Bruin freshman running back Raymond Carter had to put his true freshman season on ice after he tore his ACL on the second day of training camp a year ago. Carter's camp injury was a precursor for things to come for the Bruins and their 2007 season when one player after another went down with an injury.

Now Carter is back in good health and is raring to go to finally start his college football career.

BruinBlitz.com was able to talk to Carter after a recent practice.

BruinBlitz.com: Tell us how much Monday means to you?

Carter: "It means a lot to me. It will be my first college game. I just can't wait to get out there and do everything I can to help the team out."

BruinBlitz.com: It has been two years since you have been on the field, how hungry are you to get back out there and under the lights?

Carter: "I am so hungry for this moment. It has been awhile since I have played. I haven't played since I was in an all-star game in Fort Lauderdale and on Monday it will be my first game back and I just can't wait to be back out there.

"It is going to be an emotional day for me because it has been awhile since I played in a game so I just can't wait to be out there."
