Scrimmage Report

The Missouri Tigers held their second and final full scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday morning. has all the news and notes. On a day with so many different plays, I will just run down my observations in chronological order:

*In other injury news, both Brian Coulter and Jared Perry left the field hurt. Gary Pinkel said an MRI would be done on Coulter's bum ankle and that Perry had a very slight shoulder dislocation, but should not miss more than a couple of days.

*Here was Pinkel's assessment: "I thought it was okay. I was kind of disappointed and I just told our football team, we've got to get better. I just thought it was sloppy in a lot of ways. Certainly, there were some good things that people did out there, there's no question about that, but I think overall, we've got a lot of work to do if we want to be ready for this football game."

*Play of the Day: Daniel avoided pressure and scrambled left. He threw a rainbow off his back foot down the right sideline. Carl Gettis dove, but missed the interception by inches. Maclin gathered it in and coasted for a 57-yard touchdown.

*Player of the Day: Gotta be Wes Kemp. Before today, I would not have mentioned him as a freshman that might play, but when Perry went out, Kemp got reps with the first team offense and really looked good. The DeSmet product could find his way on the field yet.

*We should know a lot more about freshmen come Monday when we get an updated depth chart.

The Tigers are off on Sunday, but will return to practice on Monday morning at 7:15.
