Tigers prep for second scrimmage

The Missouri Tigers had a two-hour plus practice on Faurot Field on Friday morning, the first of two on Friday. has all the news.

*First, the injury updates: Andy Maples has a Jones fracture in his foot. Gary Pinkel said he will be out four to six weeks. Blaine Gabbert practiced today, including throwing a few short passes. His status for Saturday's scrimmage is up in the air.

"He did some good things today, which is really good," Pinkel said. "He really wants to (scrimmage)."

*Pinkel confirmed after practice that offensive lineman Bryan Webb has left the program for personal reasons.

*Play of the Day: In seven-on-seven, Scott could not hang on to a pass when he was popped by Carl Gettis. As the ball floated in the air, Egnew came over to make the catch and picked up about ten yards. Nice awareness by the freshman.

*Player of the Day: Nobody really jumped out at me above everyone else, but I will go with Jared Perry. I have thought he's had a good camp and the two touchdown catches were nice plays at the end of the day.

The Tigers will have a light special teams practice before heading to the swimming pool this afternoon. The workout has been closed to the media. will resume coverage with tomorrow morning's scrimmage.
