Junior RB Thompson's ready to excel

It looks to be another strong year in the state of Georgia in the class of 2010. A number of prospects have already emerged and many more will this fall. Juwan Thompson is almost 6-feet tall while weighing 204 pounds and he is ready to excel at running back this year.

Thompson played fullback as a sophomore and he ran for 800 yards when he wasn't blocking. This year he will get the chance to be the featured back at running back, so more carries and more big play opportunities will come his way in 2008.

He camped at Auburn and Georgia this summer, so the Tigers and Bulldogs are already aware of his skills, but we expect many more to know about this Woodward Academy athlete in the near future.

We recently traveled over to College Park to visit with Thompson and to work him out. He lifted weights, ran the 40 yard dash, caught a few passes, and took pitches out of the backfield.

Get an early look at one that could be one of the best at his position in the Peach State right here.

NOTES: Thompson also sports a solid 3.0 at the private school just miles from the airport. Woodward is a top academic school, so a 3.0 there is around a 3.5 at an every day public school in Atlanta. We will be out to scout Thompson early this season, so look for photos, video, player analysis on The Vault.
