Hickman talks about FAU

Willie Hickman of Pahokee High School took part in FAU's one day camp in June with some of his teammates. The 5 foot 9, 145-pound cornerback impressed the coaches with his performance as he picked up an offer.

"Coach Williams told me he wants to get me in so I don't have to redshirt," said Hickman. "I liked the coaches. Coach Hoza was also talking to me asking about my test scores and grades. He asked if I liked FAU."

Did you like your visit?

"I liked FAU it is close to home and there is a chance to play."

What schools are recruiting you the hardest?

"Minnesota, Kansas State along with FAU are recruiting me the hardest."

Along with visiting FAU this summer Hickman also took an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech.

"Coach Kelley is recruiting me for them. I visited them a few weeks ago."

Is playing time a big issue in your college decision?

"In my mind I am all about playing right away."

Pahokee opens the season August 30th against Olive Branch, MS at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami.
