WVU adds Garvin to 2009 class
The West Virginia University football program recently secured yet another verbal commitment for its class of 2009. Safety Terence Garvin is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound jack-of-all-trades who favors mashing opposing ball carriers and receivers as a safety. Once he completes his senior season at Baltimore's Loyola Blakefield High, safety is where Garvin will stake his reputation as a Mountaineer.
Under Loyola Blakefield head coach Brian Abbott, Garvin has made his mark all over the gridiron last season as a junior. Lining up at running back, Garvin rushed for 792 yards on 6.2 yards per carry and scored 15 touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 188 yards while racking up 42 tackles and three interceptions as a safety/cornerback. However, it is at safety where the physically imposing Garvin is expected to do the most damage at the collegiate level.
