Neuheisel quick hits at media day

UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel met the Pac 10 media, with senior defensive tackle Brigham Harwell, who incidentally has straight A's over the last quarter, for the first time as the coach of the Bruins.

Neuheisel opened his talk saying he wants to rekindle UCLA football to be where it needs to be. He thanked UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero and UCLA Chancellor Gene Block for giving him a second chance.

Neuheisel looked at Harwell and told the gathering that UCLA needs to recruit players like him to get to where they need to be. He then told the media that he Harwell was a straight A student.

Neuheisel was asked about the tandem of Harwell and sophomore Brian Price and he said that all good teams that have competed for the National Championship over the years always had a good defensive line and that UCLA was in good shape with Harwell and Price.

Harwell added that he and Price work well together with the duo of Korey Bosworth and Tom Blake.

Harwell said that the DL should be a team strength.
