Junior DT makes big impression

One of the players that was hard to miss at Texas A&M's talent-laden one-day camp on Sunday was Pflugerville defensive tackle Tyrus Thompson. Though he will only be a junior in the fall, the big defensive lineman already stands at 6-foot-5 and 278 pounds.

Thompson, who moved to Pflugerville from the Houston suburb of Deer Park prior to his sophomore season, had a positive first impression of Aggieland. He also had a chance to meet one of A&M's current commits in the class of 2009.

"I thought all the facilities were pretty cool," said Thompson. "I had never been inside a college before. This was my very first time to be on any campus. It was all pretty cool to me. I'm interested in A&M, definitely.
