Cotton down to two?

Jordan Cotton has always maintained that he would like to make his college decision before his senior year of high school and currently the three-star prospect remains on track. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Cotton, who hails from Mount Pleasant, Iowa, recently narrowed his choices down to two schools, Iowa and Kansas.

Cotton, whose father played for the Hawkeyes in the mid 80's, has been to Iowa City a number of times over the years, but has not had a chance to tour many other college campuses. Next week, the Mount Pleasant native will drive down to visit his friend four-star quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase, whose dad also played at Iowa, and the two plan to make a trip to Kansas together.

In addition to Iowa and Kansas, Cotton also holds scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Colorado, and Iowa State. As a junior, the three-star prospect played running back for Mount Pleasant, rushing for 1,449 yards and 17 touchdowns in earning first team all-state honors. While some schools project him as a defensive back in college, both Iowa and Kansas like him at wide receiver. Cotton would like to make a decision before the end of July.
