Will Van Sloten follow dad to ISU?

All three major Iowa football programs along with the Kansas Jayhawks will be receiving a camp visit from Decorah (Iowa) offensive line prospect Bret Van Sloten this summer.

Van Sloten stands at 6-foot-7, 240-pounds and is the son of former Cyclone Doug Van Sloten, who was a lineman for Iowa State in the 1980's. Despite the fact that Brett has Cyclone in his blood, he made it very clear that won't affect his upcoming college decision.

"My parents have told me that I need to make the decision that's best for me," Van Sloten said. "The fact that my dad played there doesn't affect my decision at all." Van Sloten did admit to being a Cyclone fan though. "I followed them up until a couple years ago when I started following all of the schools recruiting me but I've still been mostly a Cyclone fan."

Van Sloten projects to be a tackle at the next level.
