Bruins offer running back

The Bruins threw their hat into the ring for the services of running back Dasarte Yarnway (6-0, 215, 4.5) from San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral. He attended the NIKE Camp in Palo Alto and was considered one of the best running backs there.

Besides UCLA, Yarnway has offers from Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Washington, Washington State and Colorado.

As a junior, Yarnway rushed for 1,410 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He was also a weapon catching the ball out of the backfield latching onto 25 receptions for 220 receiving yards.

Yarnway is in the process of debating about if he's going to attend any team camps. There may be a conflict with his SAT and ACT testing.

"I was really surprised by the UCLA offer," Yarnway said. "They have been by the school a couple of times, but they haven't been in close contact as far as letters and emails, but when I talked to them on the phone it appeared to me that they are keeping a close eye on my progress."
