Cotton updates his recruiting

After an all-state junior season at Mount Pleasant High School, Jordan Cotton continues to receive major college interest and scholarship offers this spring. The latest offer for the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Cotton came this past week from the Iowa State Cyclones.

The offer from the Cyclones is the fourth overall for Cotton, who received earlier ones from Iowa, Kansas, and Wisconsin. Also possibly entering the picture soon is another Big 12 school, Nebraska, who has shown significant interest.

As a junior, Cotton played running back for Mount Pleasant, finishing the season with 1,449 yards and 17 touchdowns. Currently, Iowa, Iowa State, and Kansas project him as a wide receiver in college, while Wisconsin is recruiting him primarily as a defensive back. Next month, the junior plans to hit the road to make a few stops at some of the colleges on his list.

While Cotton, whose father Marshall played at Iowa in the 80's, still has the Hawkeyes at the top of his list, he hopes to get out and see some other schools before making his decision possibly towards the end of summer.
