James to walk in L.T.'s shoes?

Growing up in Texas, unless you lived under a rock, it was hard not to notice the things that LaDainian Tomlinson accomplished during his playing days at TCU. The NFL superstar that now dons the San Diego Chargers uniform on Sundays made an impression on a lot of pee-wee, junior high and high school players during their most informative years. Waymon James (5-9, 203) from Sherman High School in Sherman, TX is no different.

"LT is my favorite player" said James. "I wear his number 21 and everything, I just like how he runs the ball."

The talented back can lay claim to a little hype of his own though. James, a powerful runner with a brilliant burst of speed when he hits the hole, is getting a lot of love from programs across the country. Currently holding offers from the likes of Nebraska, TCU, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech and Tulsa, it's clear to see that James has officially arrived. So what schools are standing out to him right now?

"Well, to tell you the truth, TCU is my favorite. I plan on seeing them even more this weekend when I go down there for the Nike camp. I like them a lot and I want to see what all they have to offer."

With more and more players committing everyday, I asked James when the ideal time for his decision would be.

"I plan on committing real soon, I want to commit as soon as possible" said James.

Frog fans are hoping that the impression that he gets this weekend during the Nike camp will be big enough for him to pull the trigger in favor of TCU. With the number of offers that the Frogs have out to other top tier backs, every prospect knows that it won't be long before the recruiting class starts to fill up. With seven very impressive commitments already in the bag, will James make it number eight after this weekend? Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com to find out.
