WVU special teams a forgotten strength

MORGANTOWN--With offensive fireworks and shutdown defense the norm in Morgantown last season, the consistency of the West Virginia University special teams was often overlooked. But with standout kicker/punter Pat McAfee and a take-your-pick stable of talented return men at his disposal, WVU coach Bill Stewart knows he has one less thing to worry about heading into the summer.

"We're not real concerned about Pat and the return teams at this point," Stewart said on Monday. "We've got a whole bunch of guys who know how to make plays. We just have to figure out which ones we want out there with the lights on."

McAfee, for one, can't wait for the chance to step back out on the field following a disappointing conclusion to his junior campaign.
