Cotton enjoys Iowa junior day

Growing up in Mount Pleasant, Jordan Cotton has been to the University of Iowa many times over the years, especially with his father, Marshall, being a former Hawkeye football player. But on Sunday, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Cotton got a more in-depth look at the football program as he had the chance to visit spring practice during Iowa's junior day.

As a junior, Cotton rushed for 1,449 yards and 17 touchdowns as a running back for Mount Pleasant, but likely projects at wide receiver in college. In February, the junior had a chance to sit down and visit with Iowa's new wide receivers coach Erik Campbell, who previously held the same position at Michigan. This weekend, Cotton got to see Campbell at work up close and in person at Sunday's practice.

Cotton, who holds scholarship offers from Iowa and Kansas, actually made the drive up to Iowa City on Saturday night. There, the junior had the chance to catch up with his friend Nathan Scheelhaase, whose father Nate Creer was teammates with Marshall Cotton at Iowa in the mid 80's.

Cotton, who is busy with track right now, is also hearing from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Illinois, Louisville, and Northern Illinois in addition to Iowa and Kansas. Currently, the junior hopes to make his college decision by the end of the summer.
